European heavyweights Inter Milan believe they can sign an Aston Villa star on the cheap in a player swap deal, according to a new report.
The Villans are back in Premier League action on Saturday as they welcome Everton to Villa Park, but ahead of that game, Unai Emery looks to have a battle on his hands to retain one of his best players.

Now that the transfer window has closed, Aston Villa and Emery will focus on what is to come on the pitch as they prepare for key Premier League and Champions League games. While transfers may not be on the cards for now, the club is aiming to lock down some of its greatest players. Villa are interested in signing Rory Wilson, a teenage striker from their academy, to a new deal.
The Premier League team wants to ensure the forward’s long-term future at the club, as he enters the final year of his contract. If a new contract cannot be reached, Wilson can depart for a European club and receive £228,000 in compensation.
Villa are claimed to have made numerous five-year contract proposals for the young striker in order to clinch the deal before the January transfer window closes. If a deal isn’t reached before the end of the year, Wilson will be free to meet with clubs outside of England and sign a pre-contract if he so desires.
