Latest NEWS :England’s star to miss series against the All Blacks

Leicester said on Thursday that Chessum, who plays lock or in the back row, will miss the remaining two matches of the English Premiership after undergoing surgery for an unclear reason.

His most recent outing was in Leicester’s 19-21 home loss to Bristol last month. He finished the game, but it was determined that he needed an operation later.

The Tigers expect Chessum to be ready for the start of the new season in September, but their quest to qualify for next season’s European Champions Cup will end without the talented 23-year-old.

Chessum started every Six Nations match this season and has established himself as a key member of the England pack, winning 23 caps, the majority of which came in the second row.

England will face Japan in Tokyo on June 22, followed by two Tests against the All Blacks, who finished second in last year’s World Cup, in Dunedin on July 6 and Auckland’s Eden Park a week later.
