While Max Verstappen supports PSV and also has a soft spot for Manchester United and Barcelona, he has already been invited to watch Liverpool play by Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo, both Dutch players. Van  Dijk also paid a visit to the driver in Monaco in 2024. Will the positions be turned soon, with the four-time world champion heading to Anfield?

While it is difficult for Verstappen to attend football games because to his hectic schedule, the now four-time world champion would be delighted to visit Anfield Road, despite having a special spot for Manchester United. On the other side, Dutch players and manager Arne Slot are also having success with the team, which excites the Red Bull Racing driver, and a prior visit was already planned. “Virgil [van Dijk] keeps inviting me to a game, and I will absolutely attend. I’m not the moron that despises another club. When I see Virgil or Cody [Gakpo] play and do well at Liverpool, that excites me as well,” he told Mirror Sport.

The two clubs will meet off in the Premier League today, with Liverpool leading the league and Manchester United 14th. Verstappen also detailed why he prefers the Red Devils. “I just adore the tale about when Sir Alex Ferguson was manager. Initially, the Dutch connections with [Ruud] van Nistelrooy and [Robin] van Persie were also brought up. You become a fan and begin reading more about the team and how they have attained much of sports.

The squad did not keep favorite player and now manager Van Nistelrooy after he was appointed interim manager after Erik ten Hag was fired. The former striker now leads Leicester City. “I was sad to see Van Nistelrooy leave the club altogether. But then he got a terrific role at Leicester, so I’m really excited to watch how he does.”

The Dutch driver said of the team’s current management, Ruben Amorim, “It’ll be a big task, but he’s an exciting manager.” He is still extremely young. I think he has a lot of potential, and I just hope he brings out the best in the players and himself. Hopefully, he will bring the club back to the top.”
