After nearly six years together and four grand slam wins, Joe Salisbury and his longtime doubles partner Rajeev Ram have called tennis quits.
Salisbury and American Ram, one of the most successful teams in recent years, became the first duo in the Open era to win three consecutive US Open men’s doubles titles between 2021 and 2023 after winning the Australian Open in their second season together in 2020.
In addition, they were both ranked #1 in the world and won 10 ATP Tour titles together, including the ATP Finals in 2022 and 2023.
“For a professional tennis player, six years is a long time,” Ram posted on Instagram. Joe and I had heartbreaking defeats, incredible victories, and memorable matches and experiences.
“But the truth is that those around us were the reason we were able to bounce back from the lowest points in the sport and achieve some of its greatest highs. We spent six years playing together, but we created lifelong friendships and memories, and I sincerely appreciate that.”
