Real Madrid favourites sign €150 million German international

Real Madrid has some of the best young players from across the world. The majority of their roster is in their early to mid-twenties. Naturally, they are anticipated to improve as they gain more experience. It didn’t stop them from winning both the Champions League and La Liga.

However, with Real Madrid, nothing stays the same. Plans for the 2025 summer transfer window must already be in the works.

Much of the attention has been focused on the probable arrivals of Alphonso Davies and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Both are in the final year of their contracts with their respective teams.

According to BILD, Florian Wirtz’s transfer fee next summer could be used to fund the revamp at Bayer Leverkusen. The German international is anticipated to generate €150 million. Only a few teams are considering signing him. Real Madrid are the favorites. ManchesterCity and Bayern Munich are also in the running.

Wirtz was central to Bayer Leverkusen’s unexpected Bundesliga triumph last season. While an exit this summer could have been a possibility, the German international has chosen to stay put as Xabi Alonso’s side look to make their mark at the Champions League level.

It feels like it’s only a matter of time before Wirtz ends up moving to an elite European team. Of course, one has to wonder where he would fit in in the current Real Madrid setup, that is stacked with talent up front and in midfield.
