According to BILD, Florian Wirtz’s transfer fee next summer could be used to fund the revamp at Bayer Leverkusen. The German international is anticipated to generate €150 million. Only a few teams are considering signing him. Real Madrid are the favorites. ManchesterCity and Bayern Munich are also in the running.
Wirtz was central to Bayer Leverkusen’s unexpected Bundesliga triumph last season. While an exit this summer could have been a possibility, the German international has chosen to stay put as Xabi Alonso’s side look to make their mark at the Champions League level.
It feels like it’s only a matter of time before Wirtz ends up moving to an elite European team. Of course, one has to wonder where he would fit in in the current Real Madrid setup, that is stacked with talent up front and in midfield.
