HotNews: Kyle Dubas could be on the verge of perpetrating another robbery against the Maple Leafs.
Kyle Dubas left the Toronto Maple Leafs and eventually joined the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Since that time, Dubas has brought two former Maple Leafs to Pittsburgh. First, he targeted Jason Spezza, who is currently the general manager of their farm system. Meanwhile, he brought over Wes Clark, much to Easton Cowan’s dismay.
Some believe Dubas is planning another heist on the Maple Leafs. This time, though, it’ll be in the scouting department. The Maple Leafs recently parted ways with Victor Carneiro, who was an Amateur Scout. Interestingly, Carneiro joined the Leafs in 2018 when Dubas arrived. They worked with the Soo Greyhounds.
Having said that, it is unclear whether this is the best decision for the team right now. Dubas may be devoted to his former Maple Leafs staff, but it doesn’t mean he needs to hire them all. In any case, it may be an intriguing development for Leafs and Penguins fans both.
This season, the Maple Leafs will be title contenders. Meanwhile, the Penguins are on the cusp of making the playoffs. That makes everything more fascinating, since Dubas now needs to help rebuild his team.
According to Hockey Patrol, Kyle Dubas may be attempting to steal another moniker from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
