Every year, the All-Star Futures Game brings together more of baseball’s finest prospects than any other event, and this year is no exception. The 25th annual showcase, along with the inaugural Futures Skills Showcase, will feature 39 players from MLB Pipeline’s newly updated Top 100 Prospects list, including nine of the top 20.
American and National League teams will face off in a seven-inning game on July 13 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The AL squad included Red Sox shortstop Marcelo Mayer (No. 7 on the Top 100), Tigers outfielder Max Clark (No. 10), Orioles catcher Samuel Basally (No. 12), Twins shortstop Brooks Lee (No. 13), White Sox shortstop Colson Montgomery (No. 16), and White Sox left-hander Noah Schultz (No. 18). The National League roster included Nationals outfielders James Wood (No. 2) and Dylan Crews (No. 4), as well as Padres catcher Ethan Salas (No. 6). However, Wood was promoted to Washington on Monday and will be replaced.

In addition, 48 of the 54 players took part in MLB’s inaugural Spring Breakout event in March. Twenty-four are past first-round picks, including Diamondbacks outfielder Draw Jones (2022) and Crews (2023), who were both drafted second overall. Eight countries and territories are represented: the United States (41 Futures Gamers), the Dominican Republic (six), Venezuela (two), the Bahamas, Canada, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Taiwan.
The game will be televised on MLB Network at 4 p.m. Eastern Time. Former Rangers great Mike Young, a seven-time All-Star and 2005 AL hitting champion, will manage the American Leaguers, while Hall of Famer and four-time All-Star Adrian Belpre will lead the National Leaguers.
For the first time, MLB will hold a Futures Skills Showcase after the game. Lee, Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony (No. 14), Rangers shortstop Sebastian Walcott (No. 73), and Rays first baseman Tre’ Morgan (not listed in the Top 100) will represent the AL. The National League will be represented by Nationals third baseman Brady House (No. 45), Cubs catcher Moises Ballesteros (No. 61), Pirates second baseman Termers Johnson (No. 77), and Reds third baseman Cam Collier (No. 85).
The eight players will compete in three rounds of a hitting contest, gaining points by hitting targets in the first round (including bunts), demonstrating their ability to hit to all fields in the second round, and driving balls over the fence in the third. Anthony, Morgan, House, and Ballesteros will compete in the Futures Skills Showcase, but not in the Futures Game.
