The defender was released by the club at the end of the season, and QPR reportedly wanted to add him to their development team despite interest from the Scottish Championship.
In an unexpected move, freed Aberdeen teenager Kieran Ngwenya might join English Championship club Queen’s Park Rangers.
The Dons released the defender at the end of the season, and QPR expressed an interest in the left-back for their development team.
The 21-year-old spent four years at Pittodrie, spending the majority of his time on loan and making limited appearances for the senior Reds side.
Moves included spells at Partick Thistle, Raith Rovers, Kelty Hearts, and neighboring Cove Rangers, with Thistle hoping to bring Ngwenya back to Firhill permanently, according to the Daily Record.
Several Scottish Championship clubs, including Dunfermline Athletic, are also interested in the Malawi international.
Ngwenya’s most recent appearance with Aberdeen’s first team was in 2022, when he was benched for Premier Sports Group stage matches against Peterhead, Dumbarton, and Stirling Albion under manager Jim Goodwin.
His most recent appearance was in January 2021 under Derek McInnes, when the Reds were thrashed 4-1 by Ross County.
