Aston Villa is expected to generate £260 million in revenue from the 2023-24 season, according to Football Insider sources.
Last season, Unai Emery’s squad finished in the top four, earning a spot in the newly formed Champions League.
Their strong league performance will be rewarded with greater Premier League merit payments, while Villa is also poised to get a larger payout from facility fees after having more games aired last season than the previous year.
Villa also advanced to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League before losing to Olympiacos; their European run is likely to boost club revenue by roughly £20 million.
According to The Telegraph, Villa’s president of commercial operations, Chris Heck, wants the club’s earnings to reach £400 million by 2027.
Aston Villa ready to surpass record revenue with £260 million reveal.
According to Football Insider, Villa made over £260 million in revenue during the 2023-24 season, setting a new club record.
The Birmingham club announced in its 2022-23 reports that revenue increased from £178 millio to £217 million following Emery’s first season in command.
Along with their better on-field results, Villa have signed various commercial and sponsorship arrangements this season, including a long-term front-of-shirt partnership with Betano and a kit manufacturer agreement with Adidas.
However, the £17 million gained from Villa’s Adidas deal may not be felt until their 2024-25 accounts, given the German sportswear brand began the partnership this summer.
Prize money and commercial bonuses from the Champions League will also be included in Villa’s 2024-25 accounts, putting them on track to shatter their income record and achieve their £400 million ambition.
In other developments, Aston Villa is willing to accept Diego Carlos’ offer.
