Fabricio Bruno’s decision to turn down West Ham United has just now become clear.
Julen Lopetegiu, West Ham’s latest signing, has wasted time in the market, since the club has already identified a number of targets.
Luis Guilherme’s arrival is imminent, as was Bruno’s when he cancelled the £15 million contract with Flamengo.
The Brazilian centre-back is currently highly linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
However, a revelation has surfaced revealing why he shunned The Hammers.
Fabricio Bruno was not in line to receive significantly increased remuneration.
According to Standard Sport, West Ham were hesitant to pay Bruno a considerable increase over his existing contract at Flamengo.
He chose to refuse the move to the London Stadium due to not only the pay but also the number of years they were willing to provide.
It appeared that he would be heading to Saudi Arabia instead, but in a recent interview, he expressed his wish to stay with Flamengo.
“It’s a really private decision. There will be an appropriate time to discuss it. What I’d like to make clear is that I’m very happy here and will continue to work for my team,” the 28-year-old stated.
West Ham United should switch to Jacob Greaves.
With the Bruno deal off, West Ham should look to sign Hull City defender Jacob Greaves, who has been linked in previous months
.
The left-footed centre-back has been one of the top players in the Championship in recent seasons and appears to be ready for the Premier League.
Greaves, 23, has enough experience to make the adjustment and plenty of room for growth.
He’d make an excellent addition to Lopetegui’s roster.
