According to Football Insider, John Heitinga, the recently fired coach of West Ham United, is a strong candidate to take over as manager of Ipswich Town.
Kieran McKenna is poised to leave the Premier League new boys despite strong interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, and Brighton.
Heitinga is eager to take on a managerial post after leaving West Ham at the end of the season following David Moyes’ departure and the appointment of Julen Lopetegui
The former Netherlands international defender is well-known in coaching circles, having fought his way up from the Ajax academy to the top position in the first team.
In January 2023, Heitinga stepped into the job of interim Ajax head coach following the departure of Alfred Schreuder, and helped turn around the club’s season, winning eleven of their remaining sixteen matches.
Ipswich Town are considering a move for Heitinga, with McKenna expected to resign.
The 40-year-old, who holds a UEFA Pro Licence, joined West Ham last summer to work with former Everton manager David Moyes and gain Premier League coaching experience.
