Another Auburn Tigers defender is coming to the Pacific Northwest! After picking Nemehiah Pritchett a few picks ago, the Seattle Seahawks selected DJ James, the Tigers’ incumbent veteran starter from last season. According to Sports Reference, he has three interceptions in the past two seasons for Auburn after transferring from Oregon after the 2021 season.
As a side note, the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos appear to be developing quite the trade pipeline these days. After agreeing to exchange previous picks, the Seahawks were able to acquire some depth to a draft that lacked both a native second and fifth round selection. While the 207th pick should not be anticipated to immediately step into a starting role, he will offer competition to the squad and provide Mike Macdonald with a youthful, rangy, developing possibility at cornerback.
So, what made this player a target for the Seahawks? Let’s look at some film and see!
