The last two games for the Golden State Warriors were lopsided defeats. After losing 20 of their 37 games this season, they are presently sitting outside of the Western Conference’s playoff and play-in tournament spots. Golden State is therefore very likely to try to find a roster upgrade by entering the trade market.
Following the Warriors’ loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, head coach Steve Kerr acknowledged that his team needed to “find some fight.” A fan base that is becoming more and more disenchanted with the current product on the market is probably going to appreciate his remarks.
Two straight games at home are not competitive, so we can not continue in this manner, Kerr stated. “We have to find some fights. We may have to resort to some different tactics, but more than anything, we’ve got to be connected defensively to give ourselves a chance.”
Golden State will likely have Draymond Green back in their rotation before the end of the month. The veteran forward is currently working on his conditioning as he ramps back up ahead of his return from suspension. However, Green’s presence within the rotation may not be enough to stop Golden State’s current slide.
There appears to be a regression among multiple rotation players. Still, with Green set to return and Gary Payton II also on the sidelines, Kerr may have enough leadership on the roster already. Whether the front office agrees or whether they look to inject some fresh life into the team will remain to be seen.
