Will Howard, a transfer quarterback from Kansas State Wildcats, was signed by the Ohio State Buckeyes this offseason, and many predicted he would start for the team. However, Devin Brown chose to stay and run for the position, and it appears that experience will be his main advantage over Howard.

Because of his years of experience in this offensive system, Devin Brown has a greater degree of comfort than any other player on the team, according to Ohio State head coach Ryan Day’s explanation after the team’s spring game on Saturday.

According to On3, Ryan Day stated, “He is in his third year and a lot of the things that we are doing are still what we have done in the past.” “So, you can see that he probably feels most at ease with the offense out there.”

However, familiarity will not be sufficient for Brown to land the position. Day gave Brown a very clear indication of what it would take to earn the starting position: consistency.

“The main thing about him is that he tries to be as consistent as he can. Keep the offense going, as he clearly flashes and has the ability,” Day stated.

Whether Brown can surpass Howard for the position will have to be seen.
