Due to an elbow injury, the gonzaga lose a reliable multi-inning reliever for the 2024 campaign..

Michigan State Representative Matt Maddock made false claims on social media, asserting that he had photographic evidence of “illegal invaders” arriving at Detroit Metro Airport. Maddock posted two photos on the platform X, previously known as Twitter, one showing an Allegiant Airplane and the other displaying three buses. He wrote, “Happening right now. Three buses just loaded up with illegal invaders at Detroit Metro. Anyone have any idea where they’re headed with their police escort?”

However, Maddock’s assertion is inaccurate. The buses were not transporting “illegal invaders” but were instead for men’s college basketball teams arriving at the Detroit airport to participate in the NCAA tournament, also known as March Madness. The Wayne County Airport Authority, which manages Detroit Metro Airport, confirmed that the buses seen in the photo were transporting basketball teams and their staff members.

While it is unclear which team used the specific buses in Maddock’s photo, Gonzaga University’s assistant athletic director for communications confirmed that the team flew on an Allegiant plane, arrived at Detroit Metro Airport on Wednesday evening, and boarded buses waiting at the airport.

An Allegiant spokesperson corroborated this information, stating that the only Allegiant flight to the Detroit airport on Wednesday was a charter flight carrying the Gonzaga team. Additionally, it was confirmed that the bus carrying Gonzaga’s players received a police escort to their hotel, as did other basketball teams, including Creighton University’s team, which also landed at the airport on Wednesday afternoon.
