Booth, the son of former Penn State Nittany Lions standout Calvin Booth, who currently serves as the General Manager for the Denver Nuggets, is a prime target for Michigan. Despite initially committing to Happy Valley before switching to Notre Dame, Booth had received an offer from Michigan during his high school recruitment, thus he should be familiar with the program and its facilities despite the coaching staff turnover.

In his freshman year, Booth exhibited glimpses of his potential, averaging 6.5 points and 4.3 rebounds while starting 19 games. However, standing at 6-foot-10 but weighing only 203 pounds, he struggled with his shooting accuracy, particularly from long range. His shooting percentages of 29.7 percent from beyond the arc and 39.1 percent overall were below expectations considering his high school performance.

Securing Booth’s commitment and tapping into his potential while further developing his skills will be a challenging task for May and the Wolverines. Nevertheless, if they can succeed in this endeavor, Michigan could have a promising big man for several seasons to come. However, competition for Booth’s services is fierce, with schools like Alabama, Texas, Illinois, Florida, Ohio State, and Wisconsin also vying for his talents.
