”Aaron Judge Injury Update Is Bad News for New York Yankees’ Playoff Dreams…

Due to the solar eclipse, the Marlins-Yankees game’s opening pitch was postponed by four hours.

The Miami Marlins and New York Yankees rescheduled the first pitch for their series opener due to concerns about playing through Monday’s solar eclipse, the Yankees announced Thursday.

Originally set for 2:05 p.m. EDT at Yankee Stadium, the game was pushed back to 6:05 p.m. in New York. The timing of the solar eclipse, with totality starting around 2:27 p.m. EDT in the United States and expected to begin at 2:10 p.m. in New York, factored into the decision. The sun is projected to be most obscured around 3:25 p.m., according to NASA.

Yankee Stadium gates will open to fans at 3 p.m., with the first 15,000 attendees receiving Yankees solar eclipse T-shirts.

No other MLB games are slated to start before 5:10 p.m. on Monday. Prior to this rescheduled game, the Yankees (6-1) will face the Toronto Blue Jays (3-4) at 1:05 p.m. Friday in New York and conclude the series on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Marlins, who suffered eight consecutive losses to start the season, will play against the St. Louis Cardinals (4-4) at 2:15 p.m. Saturday in St. Louis. Their series with the Cardinals will conclude on Sunday at Busch Stadium.
